If you have Tinnitus, you are likely hoping there is a cure for this irritating and sometimes debilitating condition.
Unfortunately, there is not currently a universal cure for Tinnitus, however, it is essential to remember you are not alone. Estimates show that 540 million people worldwide have Tinnitus. Some can manage their symptoms at home, with relaxation techniques, dietary changes and a good night’s sleep, however for others, they need further support.
That’s where we can help, here at Cox Lewis Hearing we understand that Tinnitus is a complex condition. Therefore, we offer personalised Tinnitus Management Plans depending on the cause and severity of your Tinnitus symptoms:
Step 1 – Tinnitus Consultation
The first step is to book a Tinnitus Consultation with one of our highly experienced Audiologists. The appointment
will be conducted in the sanctuary of our state-of-the-art Clinic.
We start the appointment by conducting a full visual examination of your ears, followed by an in depth personal case
history, followed by a full audiological assessment which includes extensive hearing testing. We can also then look at
pitch matching your Tinnitus, and Tinnitus suppression therapies during the appointment.
Step 2 – Treating Tinnitus Caused by Hearing Loss
Hearing loss is the most common cause of Tinnitus, and is often the easiest to diagnose and manage. If we find that you have a hearing loss during your Tinnitus Consultation, hearing aids will be recommended. Hearing aids can help manage your Tinnitus in 2 ways:
- The amplification from hearing aids will not only improve your hearing, but may also help to reduce your Tinnitus through masking background noise, and stimulating the nerve pathways.
- Hearing aids on the Private market also come equipped with specific programmes for Tinnitus management, which offer masking and relaxing sound therapy streamed directly through the aids to the wearer. These programs can be customised to the user, and can be utilised whenever the aids are worn.
We understand that you need to see the benefit before purchasing hearing technology, therefore as standard we offer a no-obligation, 7 day hearing aid trial, so that you can see if this treatment works for you.
Step 3 – Treating Tinnitus Without a Hearing Loss
For those without a hearing loss, effective Tinnitus management solutions have been few and far between.
Introducing Tinearity G1, the innovating masking solution, which recent studies have shown can increase habituation for those with Tinnitus. As is standard here at Cox Lewis Hearing, we offer a no-obligation trial so you can see the benefits for yourself!
